Tea Party Meeting September 9th

The next Del Norte Tea Party Patriots meeting will be held on Sept. 9th at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds  from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.   We will be inviting the candidates running for the Local Harbor Commission to this meeting.  Please come and get involved in local races leading up to the Nov. 2nd Elections. We must  restore the principles of limit government and fiscally conservative practices.  We know what works and we need to restore local control to  a Representative government.

We will be holding a 9/12 meeting covering up to page 73 in the 5000 year leap.  We will be holding our committee meetings covering Candidate Support, Voter Registration, and local government.

Tea Party Meeting Notes

On the meeting held on Aug 5th at the Cornerstone Church we were happy to have about 60 in attendence even with the fair events taking place.  We had to hold it at the church due to the fair and are looking for a permanent home to meet each month.  We are hoping to meet twice a month.

We had a presentation on the 2nd Amendment on our right to keep and bare arms and on the current Supreme Court Cases just decided in regards to D.C and Chicago.  Also covered were state laws in regard to your right to carry a firearm.

Also in attendance at the meeting was Candidate for 1st Congressional District Loren Hanks.  He gave a short speech and then opened it up for questions.  It was good to here his opinion on governments role and his defense of the Constitution.  Look him up online and Facebook to see if he deserves your support.  I know Assemblyman Mike Thompson calls himself a “Blue Dog” but has voted lock-step with Nancy Pelosi on every big government and spending bill 98% of the time.  America cannot afford another two years of Thompson in office.

During the meeting those in attendence set up several groups, Constitutional Studies (9-12 Project), Local Government, Voter Enrollment, and Advertising Committee’s.  We will be having the first hour of the meetings for presentations and comment and then the last hour for committee’s. 

The next meeting is planned for Aug. 19th and we will set a location, so keep looking for the announcement.

Repeal Obama’s Health Tax

Once again we are reminded that we cannot trust what comes out of Washington D.C. as the President lied to America.  Obama had laughed when during an interview he was asked if the Health Care Bill was not a “Tax”.  He accused the interviewer of stretching and said that it was in no way a tax.

We were warned and it looked supicious when the IRS was the enforceing agency behind the Health Care Bill and if that is so, is it not a tax?  Yet assured by those in Washington that this Health Care Bill was good for America and necessary it was passed dispite 64% of Americans opposing it.

Now the White House is defending the Health Care challenges from the States insisting that it is a tax.  As a tax it is the right of the federal government to pass such taxes and is not subject to the states challenges against it. 

 Those in office knew that if they called it a tax the American public would not stand for it and it would never have gotten passed.  Now we know the truth and we must make them pay on Nov. 2nd for their lies and deceptions against the people of this great nation.  No member of Congress that supported this Bill should be allowed by the voters back into office.

Since the mail takes too long to go through security screening it is not good for urgent issues.  Since e-mail is so over used it gets counted and largely ignored.  Faxes can be sent and will get noticed.  They don’t give out fax numbers often so use them well.

Constitution Class a Success

We had a very successful class with over 100 in attendance to learn the Constitution from Earl Taylor the President of the National Center for Constitutional Studies.  The day went by quickly and many in attendance wanted it to go on.

The class was not only educational, but inspiring.  The crowd purchased all of the materials that Mr. Taylor had brought and ordered thousands of dollars more.  Over 80 copies of the “5000 year leap” were sold at the event  so those in attendance could share what they learned and learn more themselves.

The stories Mr. Taylor told us are not taught in schools today, but are documented history.  He gave us an understanding of our Founding Fathers the great sacrifices they made and the struggle that made America.

We all learned so much from his visit and we hope he will return to our area in the future.  He was deeply moved by the beauty that is Del Norte County and hopes to return and share it with is wife.

Congressman Paul Ryan’s Plan

As I told you last time that Congressman Paul Ryan has a good plan to fix the federal budget.  You can find out about it at www.roadmap.republicans.budget.house.gov  he outlines the changes that need to be made to repair the direction of our government and restore the Constitution to it’s rightful place as a protection of our rights.  It will make Social Security, Medical and Medicare viable for the future and put America back on the road to recovery.

I urge all of you to find out more about it and then write to your Senators and Assemblymen to adopt the Ryan Plan, it can put our country back on the road to recovery.

9- 12 Project, Educating us all

As I talked about at the last meeting the 9-12 Project is about self-education.  Many of you have signed up for study groups and we will be setting those up.  The book in question we will be starting with is “The 5000 Year Leap, by W. Cloen Skousen.  It can be ordered through Amazon or other book sites. 

The book is an easy and excellent way to understand the Founding Fathers reasoning behind the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution of the United States.  I think you will all enjoy it and get a better idea of what your rights are and why our government was set up the way it was, and should be again.

Tax Day Rally A Big success!

Del Norte Tax Day Rally

What a great Day!  The sun was out on tax day as was the local Tea Party Patriots.  At the height of the day the count was 170 standing at the S-Curves protesting the out of control tax and spend government.  Lunch time traffic passed by with honks of encouragement a lots of waves. ( Mostly with all their fingers)

The local Triplicate even came by to cover this event and did a very nice article in the paper.  We even got one independent CNN reporter to cover our day. 

I want to thank and encourage all of you who were in attendance to thank Pizza King for donating all the pizza and drinks.  It was so very nice of them to give so generously, it was so good.

There has been over a total of 350 different patriots attend the past three events.  That would make the Del Norte Tea Party Patriots the single largest political organization in the county. 

Please everyone hang on to your signs as we will be needing them from time to time.  As a matter of fact we are hoping to have a table on Sunday the 25th of April at the Coastal Expo and could use the signs to wallpaper the booth.

CNN I Post Crescent City Tea Party

This afternoon while driving south on California Highway 101 I came to the “S” turn in South Crescent City and here they were; in mild force.  Our current Sheriff Dean Wilson and wife are local organizers and participate in events held in the United States.  Sheriff Wilson has been focusing on government policies and has been proactive in getting the message heard.  He believes our government should be responsible for truth, justice and free enterprise.  He also stated that he does not want to see his children in GOVERNMENT SERVITUDE.  There is a revolution of sorts forming all over the United States.  The current politicians need to be aware that they are all being watched and should set better examples than what has been seen in the past.  Our ethics committees lack what they preach.  There is the real problem, our government leaders no longer care about the people, they have become self indulgent and greedy, getting fat off our lands.  In Washington is a great piece of paper that starts with; “WE, THE PEOPLE”.  It has been ignored and twisted by politicians for their gain.  Greed in politics is not the answer.  The Romans proved that.  We have a great country, let us each protect it against this villainy.  We all need to be heard, stand up and be counted; sign in and be heard.  Here is your forum.  My thoughts, why not a flat tax on what we purchase?  It is already set up at all businesses.  The reason not, it would take away another government flop called the IRS.
